Do You Want To Be a Better Healer?

By Adam Sibalik, BETD, BAI Reg

We all have natural gifts that determine how we connect with and experience energy: the main ones are knowing, sensing, seeing, or hearing. But as we grow from childhood into adolescence, we cannot often escape the conditioning bestowed upon us by our loved ones and society – phrases like “you are making this up”, “what you see is not real, you have an overactive imagination”, “we need to go to the doctor if you are hearing voices”, or “what you are feeling is not right” make us question our abilities and in some cases shut them down entirely over time.

How can we reawaken and boost our gifts?

The first step is to become clearer on what your gifts might be. In most cases, we might gravitate strongly towards one ability over others, or we will use a combination of our gifts depending on the context.

Clairvoyance

Meaning “clear sight”, clairvoyance enables you to see energies, auras, spirit guides, objects, and events. Generally, you will see yourself as a visual person using your inner sight to translate the information you receive into colours, images, and dreams. When practicing bio-energy healing, clairvoyants may, as an example, see blotches or shapes in the clients’ auras and chakras representing blockages and imbalances. Using symbols can be a powerful way to enhance a healing session for those visually inclined.

Clairaudience

Being linked to our hearing, you may be receiving messages from guides or other people telepathically in the forms of thoughts, sounds, or songs, and your inner ear is attuned to perceiving sounds beyond the normal scope of the physical hearing. Messages received could even be accompanied by ringing or buzzing of your ears. When used during a bio-energy healing session, you may be receiving messages about your client similarly to how a medium might channel information, or hear instructions on how to best work with the client or their issue.

Claircognizance

Information just seemingly appears in your mind, you simply know what is true and can even tell whether someone is telling the truth or not. For you, it might be as simple as asking a question in your mind and allowing yourself to receive the information in the form of an intuitive hunch. When working with clients, you may receive an intuitive download of information about the person and use this inner knowing to tailor the session and techniques for the best results.

Clairsentience

You can easily feel the emotions and feelings of other people and animals. When entering a room full of people, you immediately “sense the vibe” and are highly sensitive to your surroundings. Busy and crowded places may not feel very comfortable. When working with clients, you may easily sense where any trauma and pain are held in the client’s physical or energy body. Energies may feel hot/cold, light/heavy, or sticky/prickly and anything in between during a healing session.

We can also mention gifts such as clairgustance, which allows to taste energies, feelings and events, clairscentency through which smells can be perceived seemingly without a physical origin, and channeling, which enables a person to allow guides to use one’s body to bring through information or healing energies.

All of us have a particular preference regarding which gifts we are using, and you will find your most dominant gift being the one most easily learned and developed.

Which gift or gifts are yours?

Read on for our tips on how to reawaken and boost your gifts.

Tip #1: Update your programming

Our limiting beliefs are often the main reason why we shy away from owning our gifts. We all carry imprints from childhood and even from past lives which might have helped us to help us feel safe and to fit in, but unless they expanded as we matured will now be keeping us small instead of empowering us.

The good news is that we can use the same tools with which we have been programming our subconscious over the years - our minds - to change our experience. When we habitually think the same thoughts over and over, we hypnotise ourselves into seeing and experiencing the world in a certain way. Our subconscious mind uses our beliefs as a blueprint for our experience and attracts people, events, and matter into our lives utilising the vast amounts of resources and energy at its disposal. Becoming conscious of our beliefs is the first step to changing them - you could make a list or mind map of the contents of your mind. This is an empowering step to take as you realise what a powerful creator you are. Then you can use simple tools such as hypnosis recordings to start sending new messages into your subconscious; there are plenty of free resources on YouTube, for example. Or you could even record your hypnosis sleep recording and drift off into sleep whilst your subconscious does the work. Why not give it a go?

Tip #2: Affirm your uniqueness

When we compare our abilities to other people, we deny our unique creaturehood its expression in the world. Can you think of a self-affirming practice instead? It could be as simple as writing down a list of your achievements or things you are good at and revisiting it once a day to give yourself a boost of self-appreciation.

Tip #3: Connect with your tribe

John Donne, a 16th-century metaphysical poet, said “no man is an island”. Yet, in today’s society built heavily on individualism, a stance where individuals are expected to take care of themselves instead of being more invested in their community, can easily make us feel lonely and disconnected. Having a sense of belonging is important for our overall well-being, and the buzz of messages amongst participants in our private WhatsApp group during our previous and current Prosperity Chakras course served as a great reminder of the power of community.

When was the last time you connected with your tribe?
